The following are comments from Colleen Kelly.
What an amazing event. For the first time ever, Mr. Don Barnes, Senior
Judge and President of CADORA and myself work together in a Joint "Educate
Your Eye" Judges and Rider's clinic. With an audience of highly respected
judges, trainers and riders, the horses come out one by one, riding the
official dressage tests. To say the least, the video filming itself is of
the very highest quality and you see every single footfall of each test.
It is one of the best quality video film productions I have ever
seen... not a movement is missed.
After each test, Mr. Barnes goes through EVERY SINGLE MOVEMENT,
awarding it a mark, and discussing with the other judges in the audience
exactly WHY that mark was given. The tests go from the the lower and
more basic levels, right up to and including FEI levels.
This is a rare opportunity to sit and watch the video, step by step,
check your own written copy of the test, and learn exactly what every
single movement is meant to look like, and exactly what the judge requires
to give that precious 8 or 9!
I was also judging the tests, but from a totally different perspective.
My comments were solely on the BIOMECHANICS, posture, seat and balance
of the rider. So, it is fascinating to see that when Mr. Barnes says "not
enough bend", or "not enough over-track for extension" to learn how the
RIDER was involved in CAUSING the fault.and how it could be corrected.
If you are serious about dressage, OR EVENTING these are the videos to
get! Having just seen the footage myself, the camera crew, BEST COLOR
VIDEO from Canada did an amazing job, and I highly recommend them for any
future events you want recorded. They would be ideal if you wanted to have
your stallion, or a horse you are selling filmed, and then put up on a
website where they could be seen actually moving, trotting and
cantering... amazing all this new technology. So fill out the forms, send in
your orders, and get the information only available this way.

More comments from Colleen Kelly.
I was again honored to be invited to speak for CADORA, and as the
audience were predominantly higher level riders, trainers and judges, this
video is an in-depth lecture on the biomechanics of the rider: the seat,
posture and aids for the dressage movements. It is suitable for beginners
through to FEI. riders.
I discuss how to improve your eye as a judge, in terms of the rider.
Gone are the days of just being able to say "slanted seat". As dressage is
now a highly technical profession, and considering the rider mark is 25% of
the marks.then this video is your opportunity to learn about the true
requirements of the rider in the dressage world, and a good overview of the
aids for the higher level movements.
